NOK Japan Blue Color HBY Hydraulic Cylinder Rod Seal Buffer Ring

HBY Piston Seal, also known as the buffer seal ring, consists of a soft beige polyurethane seal and a hard black PA anti-extrusion ring added to the heel of the seal. In addition, HBY Piston Seal is used in conjunction with piston rod seals to absorb shock and fluctuating pressures under high loads, to isolate high-temperature liquids, and to improve seal durability.

Installation instructions

Make sure the rod is chamfered; if not, use the mounting sleeve. 
Deburr and chamfer or chamfer sharp edges; cover the end of the bolt threads to prevent scratches. 
Remove processing residues, such as dust, debris and other external particles, and clean all parts. 
If the rod and seals are greased or oiled, it is easier to install them. Attention must be paid to the compatibility between sealing materials and these lubricants. Use greases that do not contain solid additives such as molybdenum disulfide or zinc sulfide. 
Use non-sharp edge installation tools to prevent damage to seals and cylinders.

Hydraulic cylinders operate in a variety of applications and environmental conditions, including exposure to dust, debris or outside weather conditions. To prevent these contaminants from entering the cylinder assembly and hydraulic system, wiper seals (also known as scrapers, excluders or dust seals) are fitted on the external side of the cylinder head .
Wiper seals maintain sealing contact to the piston rod when the equipment is stationary (static, no reciprocating motion of rod) and in use (dynamic, reciprocating rod), whereas the tolerance for the rod diameterd is determined by the rod seal. Without a wiper seal, the retracting piston rod could transport contaminants into the cylinder.
The outside static sealing of the wiper seal within the housing is also important to avoid moisture or particles from entering around the outside of the wiper seal.
